Adults

St. George's Episcopal Church in St. Louis Park is committed to equipping and empowering adults of all ages to walk together towards freedom in Christ. Our adult ministry programs bring men and women together as they seek to honor God in their homes, careers, relationships, finances, and more. We want to create a network of support for adults in our community to connect with one another on a regular basis for a specific purpose—to know and experience Jesus in community with others.

Children and Youth

At St. George's Episcopal Church, we welcome children and youth into the service with adults with open arms. Our youth assist during services as acolytes and chalice bearers. We have nursery space for our youngest who need "wiggle room.".

Adult Forums

We offer periodic forums following church on Sunday mornings. In the fall of 2025, we expect to offer forums on the second and fourth Sundays.

The first forum will be on Sunday, September 28: We will view the 36-minute documentary “Dying is Not Giving Up.”

“Dying Is Not Giving Up” features conversations between Licensed Psychotherapist Kelly Grosklags, LICSW, BCD, FAAGC and her patient, Judy Erdahl, who was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Knowing that her time was nearing an end, Erdahl describes to Grosklags the very human experience of dying, from first learning about her terminal diagnosis to what she hopes her death will be like. Together along with Erdahl’s family, friends and oncologist, new perspectives are shared in hopes of making the dying experience more meaningful to a person. “Everyone deserves a good death,” Grosklags says. “Our hope is that we can teach medical providers to approach the conversation of a terminal diagnosis and end-of-life care with more empathy, respect, and compassion.” “Dying Is Not Giving Up” teaches all of us that caring for patients and loved ones at the end of their life can be one of the most rewarding experiences of ours.

Once the forums for the remainder of the fall are finalized, they will be added here.

Connect with Our Neighbors

We are making connections with two nearby Lutheran churches, joining in each others’ events. During Wednesdays in Lent, the three churches shared in a simple supper and a short church service. Each church took turns hosting. We also held Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services together. On a Saturday, the three churches worked together packing food at Feed My Starving Children.

Ukrainian Eggs

A parishioner volunteered to teach a class in Ukrainian egg decorating. Participants donated $25.00 each for the class and several hundred dollars were raised. The proceeds were donated to Alight, a local non-profit, to send to the Ukraine. It was a win-win project with participants interacting with each other and the Ukraine receiving funds to help their country.

Pet Blessing

In the fall near Oct 4th, which is the Feast Day honoring St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals, St. George's Episcopal Church holds a Pet Blessing in our garden. Our Deacon blesses the dogs, cats, rabbits or other small animals, and sprinkles them with Holy Water. Those who can’t bring their animal, or are remembering a pet that has recently passed, can bring a picture of them to receive a blessing. Afterwards there are treats available for both pets and people! Watch for information on our website or posted at area vet clinics.
