This board tells the story of children around the world being sponsored by various organizations and individuals at StG. This is just one example of the ways the members of St. George’s reach out to others, both collectively and individually.
Our Outreach Committee continues to be involved with projects such as blood drives (twice per year, Loaves & Fishes, Dinner at Your Door, Adopt-A-Highway and STEP.
Several people from the parish have participated in Project Homeless Connect at the Minneapolis Convention Center in October.
Last July, we took on environmental stewardship as a new project. Once again we had a table at Parktacular where we gave out reusable grocery bags. Additionally, we have put recycling bins in the kitchen and are replacing Styrofoam cups with paper cups. Since October, we have been focusing on one topic each month in the mailed home and Sunday bulletins. A “show and tell” on the topic of the month is done one Sunday during the month.
Our year-end budget is used to make charitable contributions, which have included Dinner at Your Door, Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches, Meadowbrook Collaborative, ISAIAH, Children First, Episcopal Community Services (ECS) and University Episcopal Center.
